To further improve classroom teaching quality and guarantee teaching effectiveness, XJTU-POLIMI Joint School launches the recruitment of graduate teaching assistants for foreign teachers’ courses in the autumn semester of 2026. Relevant arrangements are announced as follows.
Ⅰ. Recruitment Targets
Full-time doctoral and master’s students officially admitted by Xi’an Jiaotong University.
Ⅱ. Job Responsibilities
1. Participate in pre-job training organized by the university and the school.
2. Assist foreign teachers in completing offline teaching tasks, including teacher communication, classroom management, student attendance checking, Q&A tutoring, homework grading, academic guidance, and curriculum assessment coordination.
3. Support teachers with platform operations on Siyuan School and the Academic Affairs System.
4. Organize student evaluation of foreign teachers’ courses.
5. Attend classes alongside students and assist in supervising ideological and cultural issues in classroom teaching.
6. Strictly implement course attendance management and provide regular academic tutoring for students.
Ⅲ. Job Requirements
1. Possess excellent English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills for accurate and fluent communication with foreign teachers; have relevant academic background in corresponding courses to provide professional academic guidance; be upright in conduct, physically and mentally healthy, earnest and responsible, and capable of effective organization and coordination.
2. Attend all foreign teachers’ courses on schedule. Leave applications must be submitted in advance to the foreign teacher, co-teacher and school academic affairs staff for approval. Salary deduction will be applied for absence exceeding 2 class hours.
3. Undertake invigilation tasks for no less than 2 examinations (excluding in-class quizzes) per semester, preferably for the affiliated course. Extra invigilation will be rewarded at 200 RMB per session, while unfulfilled tasks will be deducted at 200 RMB per session.
Note: Course supervisors shall strictly verify candidates’ qualifications during selection to ensure competent teaching support.
Ⅳ. Job Allowance
1. The total allowance consists of university basic allowance and school incentive allowance.
2. University basic allowance: Calculated as working hours (max. 40 hours per month) × 12 RMB/hour + graded homework quantity × unit standard (2 RMB per copy for doctoral students, 1.5 RMB per copy for master’s students), with a maximum cap of 2400 RMB per month.
3. School incentive allowance: [Total class hours × 80 RMB/hour − Basic allowance] × allowance coefficient.
Ⅴ. Assessment Criteria
1. The assessment is jointly conducted by foreign teachers, Chinese co-teachers and the school through comprehensive scoring.
2. Based on comprehensive scores, assessment results are divided into four grades: Excellent, Good, Qualified and Unqualified. Different grades correspond to different allowance coefficients for final salary settlement.

2. Course supervisors will select and confirm qualified candidates through material review and interview, and submit the final list to the school before July 31.
