In accordance with the university’s official document on postgraduate recommendation work (XJTU Undergraduate〔2025〕No.3), the school formulates the following implementation rules for the recommendation of outstanding 2026 undergraduate graduates for exemption from postgraduate entrance examination.
Ⅰ. Selection Working Group

Ⅱ. Basic Eligibility
1. Official undergraduate graduates of XJTU-POLIMI Joint School (2026 cohort).
2. Qualified ideological and moral assessment with correct values, sense of social responsibility and no disciplinary records.
3. Excellent academic performance; complete all required courses within the prescribed study period, with no more than one make-up or re-take passed course (only one record in total).
4. Strong academic research interest, innovative awareness and professional practical capabilities.
5. Honest academic conduct with no academic misconduct records.
Ⅲ. Recommendation Quota
A total of 30 recommendation quotas are allocated for the 2022 Industrial Design cohort.
Ⅳ. Application Procedures
1. Eligible students shall submit written applications and relevant supporting materials to the school before 18:00 on September 8, 2025. Application packages shall be named as “Postgraduate Recommendation + Name” and sent to zhaolisha@xjtu.edu.cn.
2. Academic performance will be verified by the school academic affairs office, and political performance will be reviewed by college counselors.
Ⅴ. Score Calculation and Ranking Rules
1. Total score = Comprehensive Quality Evaluation Score (10%) + Academic Score (90%).
2. Academic score refers to the weighted average score of required courses in the first three academic years (four years for Architecture majors), excluding general elective courses; Politecnico di Milano professional electives are included while Chinese-side professional electives are excluded.
3. Exchange study course scores are not included in academic score calculation. Students studying in top 30 THE-ranked universities for one semester or above will receive a 3-point bonus; students in top 31–50 universities will receive a 2-point bonus.
4. Veterans returning to school after military service will receive a 3-point bonus; students with outstanding military honors will receive a 5-point bonus (non-cumulative).
5. Competition bonus points are implemented in accordance with university and school competition management measures.
Ⅵ. Admission Procedures
The proposed recommendation list will be determined by total score ranking and publicly announced for 7 working days. Valid written objections can be submitted to the working group during the publicity period.
Ⅶ. Relevant Regulations
1. Recommended students are not allowed to take the national postgraduate entrance examination, apply for overseas study or participate in employment dispatch in the current year.
2. Students who fail to graduate on schedule or fail physical examination will have their recommendation qualification revoked.
3. Academic dishonesty will result in immediate disqualification and disciplinary record filing.
4. Final qualification standards are subject to the latest policies of the Ministry of Education and the university.
