In accordance with the Detailed Implementation Rules for Undergraduate Major Transfer of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU Academic〔2025〕No.27) and relevant university notices, and based on the school’s actual conditions, XJTU-POLIMI Joint School has set up a Major Transfer Working Group to coordinate all major transfer work. The working group is led by the Vice Dean of Teaching, with teaching directors and program leaders of all majors as members. The 2026 implementation plan for intra-school undergraduate major transfer is hereby announced as follows.
Ⅰ. Major Admission Quotas
1. The School only accepts applications for intra‑school major transfers. The proposed admission quotas for each major are as follows:

2. In view of the curriculum settings and prerequisite course requirements, all transfer students of the 2023 and 2024 intakes shall defer their study and join the 2025 intake cohorts of the target majors.
Ⅱ. Application Eligibility
1. Comply with the basic major transfer regulations specified in the university’s official detailed rules.
2. Be a full-time registered undergraduate student of XJTU-POLIMI Joint School.
3. Possess genuine academic interest, professional strengths and development potential in the intended major.
4. Maintain sound psychological quality and good interpersonal communication abilities.
5. Abide by all university regulations concerning undergraduate major transfer.
Ⅲ. Review Procedures
1. From 9:00 on July 20 to 17:00 on July 21, 2026, students may fill in only one major preference via the Comprehensive Academic Service Platform, and no revision is permitted after submission.
2. From July 22 to July 30, 2026, the school will conduct preliminary material review and organize major transfer assessments for qualified applicants to confirm admission results.
3. The proposed admission list will be submitted to the Academic Affairs Office for verification and published on the official website for a 3-day public notice period (tentatively July 31 to August 2, 2026). Students may submit written withdrawal applications during the publicity period, and no application will be accepted after expiration.
Ⅳ. Assessment Methods
1. The total assessment score consists of written test score (50%) and comprehensive evaluation score (50%), with differentiated assessment contents for different majors.
2. Written test arrangements: Electrical Engineering and Automation covers Advanced Mathematics II, Linear Algebra and Analytic Geometry I (100%); Industrial Design and Architecture cover Advanced Mathematics III (60%) and English (40%).
3. Comprehensive evaluation adopts an individual interview format, with a maximum duration of 10 minutes per candidate. The self-introduction is limited to 3 minutes, available in both Chinese and English, followed by comprehensive Q&A sessions.
4. The specific time and venue for assessments will be announced separately.
Ⅴ. Admission Rules
Admission shall be conducted in descending order of candidates’ total assessment scores. Written test scores will be used as the tiebreaker for candidates with identical total scores.
Ⅵ. Supplementary Course Arrangements
1. Transferred students shall select courses according to the target major’s training program and sign the relevant commitment document. GPA calculation and graduation qualification review will follow the standards of the target major.
2. Students with equivalent completed courses of equal or higher credits are exempt from supplementary learning; otherwise, supplementary coursework is mandatory.
3. All course recognition and supplementary studies must be completed before the sixth semester (four-year programs) or the eighth semester (five-year programs) to retain postgraduate recommendation eligibility.

Ⅷ. Special Remarks
1. The published quotas are maximum admission limits, and actual admission numbers are determined by merit-based selection.
2. Approved transfer students are prohibited from switching back to the original major and will be charged tuition fees in accordance with the target major’s standard.
3. This plan shall be subject to the exclusive interpretation of XJTU-POLIMI Joint School.
