Exchange Program at Politecnico di Milano

I. School Introduction

Politecnico di Milano (PDM) was founded in 1863 and is located in Milan, Italy. As a public research university, it is dedicated to nurturing world-class engineers, architects, and industrial designers. PDM is a member of the IDEA League, a prestigious alliance of leading engineering schools in Europe, and ranks 123rd in the 2024 QS World University Rankings.

II. Project Overview

  1. Exchange Dates: July 10 - July 19, 2024 (Arrival in Italy on July 9, 2024; Departure on July 20, 2024. Expected departure from Xi'an on July 8, 2024; Return to Xi'an on July 21, 2024)

  2. Visit Location: Mantova Campus, Politecnico di Milano

  3. Program Content:

    • Visit and study the architectural history of the Mantova campus and surrounding areas (5 days)

    • Participate in workshops and complete a regional design project (4-5 days)

    • Experience Politecnico di Milano's graduation ceremony and other events

  4. Credit Recognition: The assessment criteria for the exchange program are aligned with those of the "Architectural Cognition Internship" course. For students who miss the "Architectural Cognition Internship" due to conflicts with the short-term exchange program, the grades from the exchange program can be recognized as course credits.

  5. Project Quota: 20 participants

  6. Project Fees: Teaching fees during the exchange period are covered by Politecnico di Milano. The remaining expenses, approximately 4,000 euros, including airfare, transportation within Italy, visa fees, insurance, accommodation, meals, etc., are to be borne by the students themselves. The actual amount may vary.
