The Xi’an Jiaotong University Joint School of Design and Innovation Students’ Union (XJTUJSDISU) is a student organization under the leadership of the CPC Branch Committee of the Xi’an Jiaotong University Joint School of Design and Innovation (XJTUJSDI) and under the guidance of the XJTUJSDI Communist Youth League Working Committee and the Students’ Union of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU). Affiliated to the students’ union system of XJTU, it acts as the bridge and link between the School and the School’s students, as well as an important aspect of respecting the principal position of students and improving the internal governance structure of the School.
Brief Introduction of the Departments Directly under the XJTUJSDISU
[Office]
The Office is an integral part of the Students’ Union committed to providing efficient and orderly daily management and service support for the Union. This Department is responsible for the coordination and communication of the internal affairs of the Students’ Union to ensure the smooth progress of all work. It provides a solid backing for the Students’ Union with a rigorous and meticulous working attitude. The members of the Department have high organization and coordination ability and sense of responsibility and can quickly respond to various emergencies.
[Publicity Department]
The Publicity Department focuses on the ideological guidance of young people and carries out such work as theoretical learning, public opinion guidance, and news publicity.
Its main work contents include: inheriting and carrying forward the spirit of the Westward Migration, using youth language to learn and publicize the latest theoretical armament of the CPC and the major decisions and arrangements of XJTU, strengthening the construction of ideological positions, doing a good job in the selection and publicity of outstanding young models, assisting the School with organizational life construction, and enhancing the influence of the School’s work through new media technology and multi-platforms.
[Literature and Art Department]
The Literature and Art Department of the XJTUJSDISU is an important part of the Students’ Union, which is full of creativity and artistic atmosphere. It is committed to setting up a stage for students to show their talents and enriching the campus cultural life and improving students’ aesthetic level by holding various literary and artistic activities, such as concerts, drama performances, dance competitions, etc. At the same time, the Department shoulders the heavy responsibility of promoting the development of campus literature and art and undertakes the mission of inheriting and carrying forward campus culture.
[Department of Rights and Interests]
The Department of Rights and Interests is affiliated to the XJTUJSDISU. Its direct members include a principal and several staff members, and its subordinate organizations include the building heads and the dormitory heads of all grades. The Department is supervised by all teachers and students, and it communicates and cooperates with counselors, students of the School, property management personnel, and personnel of relevant schools during the work.
[Learning Department]
The Learning Department is in charge of students’ learning and teaching management and usually plays an important role in the management system for academic affairs. It is responsible for organizing students’ academic guidance and counseling and helping students solve their learning problems, plan their learning career, and improve their learning effect and academic results. Its main work contents include: organizing and managing various teaching activities, such as academic lectures, academic competitions, practical teaching, etc., to enrich the learning life of students. The work of the Department aims to enhance the learning experience and academic achievement of students, promote the improvement of teaching quality and teaching management, and make positive contributions to the educational cause and academic development of the university.
[Sports Department]
The Sports Department is responsible for the planning, organization, and holding of the School’s sports activities, with an aim to enrich the extracurricular life of students, improving their physical fitness and sports skills, and enhancing their fighting spirit and team cohesion through a variety of sports activities.
