The course "Basic of Product Design 1" is jointly taught by Prof. Mario Bisson and Dott. Carmelo Di Stefano from Politecnico di Milano. It is a compulsory course offered to students majoring in Industrial Design at our college, aiming to introduce the internal logic of product composition and help students grasp the core theories and methods of product design. The course content primarily comprises four parts:
Phenomenological foundations, which delve into the essence of visual and geometric construction phenomena.
Gestalt Psychology, exploring the influence of Gestalt principles on human perception and cognition.
Topological foundations, analyzing the internal composition relationships in Marcello Morandini's design works to understand the dynamic relationship between the environment and humans and the application of topology in design.
Practice and application, where students, after three weeks of analysis and study, develop and present their individual design achievements hands-on.
