Giovanni Castaldo
Double MSc degree in Architecture in 2013-14 at Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Torino.PhD in Architecture, Built Environment and Construction Engineering in 2017 at Politecnico di Milano.
Licensed architect from 2014. From 2016 till 2021 Associate Architect in CSTAT (architectural firm). He developed projects, realized, of student housing buildings, buildings for hospitality and urban and territorial plans.
From 2021 to 2023 Junior Researcher and from 2024 Senior Researcher at ABC Department of Politecnico di Milano.
The research interests regard technological and environmental design with reference to two scales. At the urban scale, the focus is on the application of nature-based solutions (NBS) in open spaces and on methodologies of assessment of benefits deriving from their application. At the building scale, the attention is on sustainable technological solutions that can improve the environmental quality of interventions (natural and semi-natural solutions). From 2013 he has been belonging to EnviReg – Environmental Regeneration research group of ABC Department, developing studies and researches on technological and environmental design for different public institutions (Ministry of University, State Property Agency, Italian Railways, Province of Lodi, ecc.).
