From November 22 to 25, 2024, the 12th National College Student Digital Media Technology and Creative Works Competition concluded successfully in Chengdu. Students from the Xi'an Jiaotong University Joint School of Design and Innovation delivered remarkable performances, securing a total of 5 national awards. This achievement highlights the school's innovative educational practices in the field of digital media technology.
The National College Student Digital Media Technology and Creative Works Competition is held in the context of China's vigorous implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy and the integration of the real economy with the digital economy. Guided by the competition's mission of "Technology Leading the Future, Creativity Transforming the Era," the event emphasizes the fusion of "intelligent technological innovation" and "digital creative design." It serves as a practical platform for the integration of industry and education in the digital economy and has been included in the competition catalog of the National College Student Competition Analysis Report by the Ministry of Education.
Our school attached great importance to this competition and sent multiple teams to participate. Under the coordination of Vice Dean Jiang Weile and the careful guidance of faculty members including Associate Professor Xu Yishan, Professor Zhai Binqing, Professor Wang Xin, Associate Professor Wang Haixu, Associate Professor Zhu Shanyao, and Assistant Professor Li Huijuan from the School of Human Settlements and Civil Engineering, our students achieved outstanding results after intense competition. They won 1 first prize, 1 second prize, and 4 third prizes at the national finals.
The team consisting of students He Chenyang, Zhou Jiaqi, Wang Yuhang, Zhang Weishi, and Wang Houxiang won the national first prize. The team led by student Wang Guan secured the national second prize. Additionally, four teams comprising students Huang Jiahe, Wang Ziqi, Xiao Chufan, Wang Houxiang, Zheng Shucheng, He Chenyang, Ji Jieru, Feng Boyu, and Huang Chengyang won national third prizes.


Currently, digital innovation is accelerating its deep integration with architectural education. Guided by the disciplinary development philosophy of "new engineering, big design, and interdisciplinary focus," the school leverages its strengths in both design and engineering fields to inspire students' practical innovation capabilities and enthusiasm for professional knowledge. It aims to cultivate students' entrepreneurial and innovative practical abilities and showcase outstanding works that demonstrate design creativity, technical application, engineering practicality, and innovative value. Moving forward, the Joint School of Design and Innovation will continue to promote teaching, learning, application, and innovation through competitions, exploring new pathways for architectural talent cultivation and advancing architectural education innovation that aligns with global technological frontiers and national strategic needs.
